Series I/Series II Engines

Hey, I have a quick question, I recently picked up my neighbor's 92 bonneville for $100, and am very satisfied with it.
However, my question is this; if I wanted to swap out my Series I engine for a Series II engine, is there anything else I'd need to upgrade as well??? Would I have to fabricate anything else as well???
Also, are there any websites that you gusy know of where I could get a series II engine from??? Thanks for the help!

Re: Series I/Series II Engines

You may be in for some major modifications since the two engines though similar are quite different. First you will need a new pcm, transmission, wiring harness, fuel pump and a host of other items. If you are going for a series II non-supercharged engine you can probably get by without the fuel pump but the remainder of the items you will need. As for finding a series II engine they are relatively easy to come by. Any wrecking yard, or online sites like cherry-auto.com can find you a good engine. New ones are relatively expensive so for a 92 model car you may want to stay with used. You can even find them on e-bay for a very reasonable price. As for the rest of the parts you will need you can try the same areas but the wiring harness may be the hardest to find. Good Luck!

Re: Series I/Series II Engines

Thanks for the info! I had no idea that there were that many modifications that needed to be done for a series II swap, enh I think I'll just stick with what I got, I'm happy either way, but thanks again!
