1999 Sliverado Transmission Fluid Leak
Hi All...I have a 1999 Silverado that I recently noticed tranny fluid on the undercarriage (quite a bit).
After searching for a leak, what I found was a tube at the top of the transfercase that leads back to the tranny...and its from this tube I find where the fluid comes. Any ideas on what this is? Is it a vent tube? And if so, is this telling me the filter is clogged or something else? Thanks for any responses! Ed |

Re: 1999 Sliverado Transmission Fluid Leak
that vent tube is so that the tranny can vent hot air as the tranny heats up. if you are getting fluid out of it , it means the tranny is either over full or the tranny is running too hot. service the tranny and make sure the level is correct.
