Sorry if i am reapeating my posts....anyway...okay this is the final one, i need to find a good car...i cant get a car considered a "sports car" by insurance...i need a car thats nice lookin as well....like i was thinkin sunfire gt, neon,...but i hear they arent good...i want a car that will last long as wel...i got around 3500 to spend

its pretty damn hard to find a car for 3500 thats fast, reliable, and not a sports car. Sunfire GT is a plenty fast car for a new driver, just find a clean one and learn how to drive it.

3 words: old. honda. accord. cuz its reliable and versatile. and by the time you actually figure out what the heck you want in a car you wont have to ask embarassingly generic questions.

rotary is what i say, you can get an rx7 turbo ii for around 2-3k if your lucky, or you dont need a turbo either, some people have actually made some 1st generation rx7's pretty fast, or you could look for an older mk3 supra, you can find a turbo for around 2k-3k sometimes around here, but you gotta be kinda lucky.

the problem with the old honda accord is that its very slow and handles pretty sloppy.

rotary?! Those cars are shit for reliability, check JDpower ratings and user reviews from carsurvey.org and autos.msn.com
Even the RX-8 gets 2 stars initial quality. And they don't get anywhere near good gas mileage. Just do you own independant research. Forums are great to get information from people with real experience that you cant find on the web or its limited.

no its the turbo rotary's that are shjit reliability, they just dont seem to run good with a turbo, NA rotaries are great, and seem to last forever in my expeirience, especially the 1st gens, hence why you usually see more 1st then 2nd gens around, or atleast in my area there are.

If you want realiability go for a japanese car. I was thinking like an old Prelude Si, quick and reliable. Also, and old eclipse or talon would be good. If you like the Sunfire GT, i'd say go for a Cavalier Z24 instead, but both would be hard to find for $3500 unless they had a ton of miles.

you cant really say because its japanese its reliable, if you wanna try you can pick up an old 80's ford like my crown vic, its got around 150k miles and no problem, we've got another ford truck that has been overturned 3 times on a meter that goes up to 100k miles, so its at about 350k milesnow, and thats without any major repair at all, so dont say because its japanese it'll ahve reliability.

stay the hell away from sunfire/cavlier and the older neons. They are not good cars. Go with an early 90's honda civic or acura integra. I bought my 91 integrafor 2500 and it's a great car

Yea I see your point. I wasn't trying to say that just because are car is japanese it's reliable or that only japanese cars are reliable. Just through my own experience and advice from others I've learned that Japanese cars are some of the most reliable cars out there. But also there is no doubt that there are other cars like you mentioned that are just as reliable.

Anyways back to the topic, you should really consider and Integra or a Prelude. I'm talkin early 90's here as that will be what you can afford for $3500. I once saw a 91 prelude for sale with over 300k miles that hadn't once had a part replaced aside from regular maintainence (filters, battery, ect.).

lol please, how many ricers are there on this forum? go for an integra or a prelude? come on, you can't be serious. Son, you need a domestic vehicle like a 2.4L cavalier or sunfire as in the sunfire GT which has a 2.4L or the cavalier Z24.
I know these guys just finished saying stay the hell away from them but thats becuase there ricers and love their little hondas. Cavaliers and sunfires are good cars I have a cavalier with a 140,000km on it and i'm selling it because I myslef am getting a z24 cavalier because the amount of aftermarket parts you can get for them is amazing. also you can't say there not reliable my moms sunfire has 245,000km on it and drove the shit out of it for more then a year straight and its still running great. If i drove one of your hondas the way I did that sunfire it would have had a blown engine at 120,000km. Also you have to ask yourself do you want accelleration which requires torque? or very little torque which means slow accelerations because hondas have no torque at all. You should seriously look into the domestic cars even the grand ams and grand prix's are pretty good cars. But I also suggest stay away from the 95-97 neons, nothing but problems.
