HELP! coolant loss

Hi everyone,
A friend of mine has a 89 SE 4cyl DOHC 16v
As soon as you put coolant in it, it all comes draining out
of a black rubber "L" shaped hose coming out of the firewall
near bottom near pass. side. It will come out as fast as you put
it in. The hose looks like a drainage point
I searched the forum and found one similar prob. that
suggested heater core. Is this the prob. I desribed here?
Any help would be MUCH appreciated

Its the heater core, just be happy that its leaking out the ac drain port instead of inside the car. While you have it apart changing the heater core, might want to think about changing the heater hoses as well. they are miserable to disconnect from the heater core, mine had to be done from underneath the car.
