Parts swap?
88 Xj 4.0 auto,Can I take the engine, tranny, T-case and install it into an 91 Wrangler with the same 4.0 but with a manuel tranny. I understand that I have to swap radiators and possibly get the driveshafts made up to fit the "new' driveline. Thankx.

Re: Parts swap?
No, don't have it yet, but a nieghbor might be selling his soon, and the wife would like one, but I can't afford dealerships. So that leaves me with the option of building it myself with parts I already have.

Iam not sure but I think you will have to make some wirring harness mods. If iam right ther are afew different changes in the harness between the 88-91. also I think the transfer case on the 88 is vacuum operated and the 91 isnt which plays in to the front Axle.

Re: Parts swap?
I still have the Red Xj(00), and yup, it still pops in the front end. It seems to drive ok, infact took it to the beach a couple week-ends back, did fine. Except for the cracking sound! Now I have a friends 86 CJ-7 to install a lift on, anysuggestions. Has 32's and a jury-rigged (homemade shackles).
