Arrow 96 2.4 2wd xtra cab no click no start?

The battery seems to be strong radio, headlights, dash ect.
I push it and it starts up and runs good. But it's time to get it right.
There's no starter turning or click when i turn the ignition key and i'm pretty sure i need to replace the solinoid contacts. How can I test the starter relay, do you need a certain tool to remove it. The fuses in the relay box and in the cab by the hood release are fine. The starters on the drivers side by the intake manifold anybody know the steps and tools needed?

That's very informative but I have a 96 2wd tacoma with the 16 valve 2.4 L 4cyl w/std trans. The starters on the drivers side. I hope I can get a reply or link for my truck. Thanks Clifton.

Sorry it didn't help. There is a 2003 Tacoma shop manual on line, I know you have a 96 but the procedure for stater removal may be the same on both trucks. I haven't found a source for other years.

Go to Volume II and find Starting system 2RZ-FE,3RZ-FE.
