I figure I have about 290 to the wheels. I would think that would be enough.

Tein HAs
R34 Turbos
Boost controler, 1 bar
K&N Air filters
Nismo Exhaust, no cat
ECU re-mapped

But yes, you are right I need more power

Sweet and the power output would be about right with a remapped ecu and the mods listed.

A lot has to do with engine timing also. I was getting 220kw (295hp) at the wheels with a link ecu but had detination problems. Talking with my tuner more we decided to sell the link and have him chip the ecu which made one heck of a difference. After 8 hrs of tuning the link vs 5 hrs on his lap top and then burning a new chip I gained another 30hp at the same boost level as I was able to run more ignition timing and no detination.

I'm learning more and more each day. Before I went side ways into a curb, I did notice on many occasions my car drifted a bit. Very tail happy as the phrase goes. Also noticed the front torque gage didn't climb all that much even at hard launches or inclines. Didn't think too much about it until reading Razor's tale of whoa. They should put a warning label on these cars, (will cause chronic hair loss)

I've read the topic and now i'm interested in the way the torque distri. works? Is it like the subaru middle diff. (viscous coupling, can't be if it is electronicly controlled) or is i like the Volvo v70-r middle diff. (haldex coupling with electronic controller).

I know the subs have probs with the middle diff, wearing when doing burn outs. But that is only a fluid change and everything works fine. No wear at the plates at all. But Razor is talking about worn plates, so there must be e connection betwen the plates...

Can some one enlighten me? Some techspecs would be appreciated, also drawings are nice...

Re: Attention GTR and GTS4 owners

I have the opposite problem with my GTS-4. The front wheels keep spinning under hard acceleration/sharp & slow turning (i.e. u-turns).

That could be due to the fact i have some new brand of tyre on the front left wheel (205/55/91v), a Bridgestone on the front right wheel (205/55/89v) and Continental's (205/55/91v) on both the back wheels. Could that 89v Bridgestone make a difference/be causing the below problem?

When driving along at 100km/h the torque meter (well it is at any speed really) keeps waving up and down but only at about 100 k's does the car feel like it is 'missing' (when it is actually the front wheel/s making it muck around).

There is a major difference between a bridgestone tyre and a continental.
What type of tyre is the brand new one?

Re: Attention GTR and GTS4 owners

Kingstar i think. New to New Zealand.

I'm looking at Firestone Firehawk SZ50's but they are $200 each.

Try to get four tyres of the same brand, size and type.

Changing on of the tyres will result in a unstable system.

Don't know kingstar.

Re: Attention GTR and GTS4 owners

Will be $1,000 for five Firehawk SZ50's because i want to get rid of the space saver in the boot (i'm NEVER going to use it even if i have to) and get another 16" M-Spec wheel. Will make the boot lumpy but there is nothing in there anyway (by nothing i mean nothing - most of the storage compartments in my car are completely empty).

I noticed one time with my R32 GTR as I was turning from a servo onto the road, so low speed, it was VERY tail happy, which I thought to be quite strange as the road conditions were dry, not under heavy acceleration etc. My torque guage is fine and the problem seems to have been fixed since I had the suspension rebuilt and new tyres on the rear.

Aslong as the rolling diameter is the same on a GTR then you can have mismatched tyres. I have Bridgestone Potenza 235/45 x 17 on the front (came on the car, to be replaced in a couple of months) and Sumitomo 255/40 x 17 on the rear (brand new). There is only a 1% difference in rolling diameter between a 235 and a 255, which makes this mismatching ok for a GTR. Mr rim size is 17 x 9 all around. If you have too greater difference in rolling diameter then the car registers this as wheel spin (even though it's not) and it can damage your diff.

Never thought things could be so technical...I was into cars before the GTR, and thought I was reasonably knowledgable....No, no no. I was so wrong. I am learning, slowly...
