LS1 thirdgen swap questions

I asked about this a while back and still havent given up on the idea. As far as a driveshaft goes. My thirdgen is an auto. If i get an ls1 with an auto do i need a special length driveshaft to make it all fit or can i just get an aluminum one off of a 4th gen auto? Also. How much do you think it would take for me to use my original exhaust piping. Would it all connect as is with the stock ls1 headers. After the swap i would like to at least make the thing drivable and think about upgrading the pipe size later. I live in florida so emissions arent really a concern for me, but does an ls1 run ok with no cat on it. I dont currently have one right now on the car. Thanks for any help.
