v-6 n/a power boost

Who was the guy on here that totally redid a 3.8 v-6? Im getting a 98 firebird and im going to be getting the heads planed and port and polished while they are out. What kinda gains would a port and polish get for me? Aside from that what else could I do while i have the heads off that would get me a little kick and be preventative maintanance for this motor that has 140000 miles on it. Maybe rockers arms, is it hard to do a cam? or expensive?, bolt on stuff. this motor is already an up from my 305 minus the initial torque, but every little bit helps. Wheres a good v6 power site for firebirds and camaros with free mods and more. Thanks.

thats Philly_RS I'd say if you have hte option /capability, get another 3800 do all the work on that with less miles and keep that one until you do the swap. Philly will answer the rest of your questions

Re: v-6 n/a power boost

this isnt gonna be a racing or big performance motor thats not what im goin for. ill do an ls1 swap for that. I was just wondering if there were any recomendations on what could be done while the heads are off to give a little boost. This will just be a normal daily driver nothing serious....yet

Well then since you're doing the port and polish do the engine balancing while you're at it.
