Re: What steps do I need to take to prepare my car for Forced Induction? (junkyard turbo)

wow xeno u was trying to go for the gusto i see, for your engine man i think 6 or 7 psi is all it can take stock and like i said a long time ago that wont get u hardly no power for the buck. unless u build your engine like some guys have said the best thing u can do is hit it with a small shot of spray. and even doing so its all time untill it goes boom! the bottom line is when u get a power adder turbo,s/c, or laughing gas, u have to build your engine for it to run the ammount u have to run to get real power. look at me at first i had a 100 shot stock, now i run a 200 and a 100, and to tell the truth i could hit it with a bit more and be ok. dont be like the movie guy and burn your shit up, because a turbo costs some bread and for the price u will pay im not trying to break a damn thing!

Re: What steps do I need to take to prepare my car for Forced Induction? (junkyard turbo)

Not looking to start any arguments and this will probably be my only post in the thread.

Xeno, one week you say you cant afford your car and want a honda, now you are saying you're gonna make a custom turbo kit for it? There will be a lot mroe things going wrong the more you put.

With that said, read these up, take the info, then decide what you're gonna do.

http://www.fullthrottlev6.com/forums...splay.php?f=48

Theres more info, but start there. Check out the tuning sections of those sites as well, because if youre going FI you must tune.

Re: What steps do I need to take to prepare my car for Forced Induction? (junkyard turbo)

you can buy a 3800 that comes supercharged. most of the fiero guys do it, my frinds doing it, and he picked it up for 1100 with the wiring at a salvage yard i think

Re: What steps do I need to take to prepare my car for Forced Induction? (junkyard turbo)

so wait couldnt you just put like triple copper head gaskets on and it would lower the compression ratio enough to boost? i was thinking about doing something similar. but i was going to use a destroked 400 with thick walls.

Re: What steps do I need to take to prepare my car for Forced Induction? (junkyard turbo)

I know 97 but I'm just dreaming and looking at alternate possibilities, assuming my maro doesn't break. Asides there is a saying I made "There are only so many things that can break on a car before you replace them all and it runs fine." I'm close to that point,. I hope.
