98 Camry O2 Sensor Cause

Ok guys! Need your help one more time! I have a 98 Camry, the check engine light came on so we ODB tested it and came back with #'s 135 and 141. Both O2 sensors have been replaced. After the computer has been reset and the car is driven for awhile..say 30 miles or so...the check engine light comes on again! Is there any other reason that would cause those two codes to keep coming up eventhough they have been replaced? The spark plugs have been replaced as well.

Thanks so much! Sig

Re: 98 Camry O2 Sensor Cause

It's possible the new sensor in front of the cat converter has taken too long to establish closed loop operation and the ECM has signaled this fact. Reset the ECM again and see if the codes have gone away. Sometimes HO2 sensors take too long to get hot the first time.

Also, make sure the connector is clean. Spray it with some electical contact cleaner.
