Tacoma seat cover help
My '99 Tacoma ext. cab automatic has the wide driver seat and normal sized passenger seat with the fold down arm rest. How and where do you find seat covers to fit?
Thanks. |

Re: Tacoma seat cover help
Sounds like you have to buy two sets, one wide and one normal width. At least the unused pair are usable for a back-up set.

Check out http://www.performanceproducts.com/
at least for ideas. I think what you have is the 60/40 split w/armrest.

I looked for a seat cover for my old Mazda pickup with the full bench seat a few years back. Unfortunately I didn't find any that looked good, and with my detailing experience at the time, I didn't care for the way that the dirt would get trapped in the creases. I ended up have the seat which was originally vinyl, recovered with cloth for about $180, which was less than a sheepskin seat cover. Maybe try an upholstery shop in your area and ask about either a recovering of the face, or even see if they have ideas about custom seat covers. I have seen at least one vehicle that had seat covers that were removable and were made of the same material as the seat. Just depends on what you are looking for, but a stop by an upholstery shop wouldn't hurt.

Re: Tacoma seat cover help
I had my seats re-covered in a black leather by a guy who does all the reupholstery work at our business. He just saved up all his scrap and only charged me for the labor - $50. I got a killer deal and it looks good - a little hot in the summer.

go to http://www.wetokole.com and check them out. They make the seat covers to custom fit whatever vehicle they go into and they fit like a glove. Check mine out at http://www.cardomain.com/id/speedemon55 and check back in a couple of weeks when I post my new pics. Just put a 3" PA BL and some new tube bumpers which brings it to a total of 5.5".
