97 skylark: BRAKE+ABS lights on

97 skylark 3.1 engine.
BRAKE+ABS lights went on and look like want to stay this way forever. The barkes and fluid level is OK, no problem noticed.
Can anubody please tell me what the heck is going on?

i have the same problem with abs light on... in 93 buick
also engine dies when im slowing down.

I have a 95 Skylark that has almost the same problem. My ABS light is on and wont go out. My back brakes were shot I change them out. I had a leaking wheel cylinder on the back LH so I changed them both. My front brakes are in good condition and the fluid is bled and levels are fine however that stupid light will not go out. The Chilton book says I need a Tech I scan Tool or equivelent to get the DTC codes off the ABS module. I have not been able to find anything out on it. I hope someone knows something.

Have you checked your abs module? When the module on my silverado went out both of those lights came on plus the abs module motor wouldn't turn off until I pulled the fuse. You might also check your fuse just to make sure it is still good.
