Angry cor got keyed

Well I walk out of the bar this evening to find a nice little surprise, my car (an 02 accent) got keyed from before the drivers side door all the way back. The cop who looked at it said that the entire side of my car will need to be re-paintded, is this the norm? also how much do you think this would cost? I just went on my own insurance less then 6 months ago, and I am worried that my payments will go through the roof (i have GEICO) and was thinking that maybe i could pay for this out of pocket. wow what a shitty night

I do believe Geico has a policy of the first 3 incidents (that are not your fault) do not raise your insurance rates. But don't quote me on that cause I am not too sure. Repainting the whole side of the car would be not cheap. I would suggest you also repost this question in the Car Detailing section where there are alot of experts in repainting/restoring cars can tell you how much it would be approx.

BTW, Even though you are specifying an accent being keyed, I'll leave it in this section instead of moving it to the accent section. If you do repost this question in the Car Detailing section and get an answer, please provide the link here or the answers you are given.

Good luck.
