Vtec Head Swap?
Hi i own a 97 honda civic hatchback (D16y7) and planning to do a D16z6 Vtec Head swap onto my Y7 Block. i was wonderin if it will be a direct fit and if it will be complicated to do. (D16z6 Vtec head was free) gotta do sumthin right.

buy the golden eagle vtec conversion kit and bring it somewhere to be done because if you need to ask this question, you shouldnt attempt this conversion.

I didn't think they made a vtec conversion kit for the d-series, you shouldn't need one. I mean, it's not a B-series, and people do it all the time.
You will need the ECU (for the D16y8 so it's OBD2 compatible) to be able to have vtec (unless you rig it up), add the wires for vtec, for the rest.... search. I guarentee this have been covered literally hundreds of times. Try doing a search for "mini-me" |

You do need to open up an oil passage somehow, like any frankenstein swap. I'm not sure how to do it, but there are plenty of websites out there with the information. Research.
