2001 Montana Shorty.....Transmission Slipping
Had a problem on the weekend. Noticed for a while that the van has a "wizzing" sound while driving.....and this weekend it just started to thump into gears. We will drive for about 10 - 15 mins and then when we go from a stand still it "drops" into gear. Every gear. Any ideas? I wish I could explain it abit better.

Re: 2001 Montana Shorty.....Transmission Slipping
Have you ever done a trans service to your van? What kind of milage do you have?
What I would try is calling GM customer assisstance, talk to them, tell them that you believe you have a common problem with your tranmission that happens to alot of GM owners and ask if they can do anything for you. They may call a dealer and set up an appointment and cover it under warranty. OR they may split the bill with you. I can't guarantee what the outcome will be but it's worth a try. I had a customer last week do the same thing and we ended up covering brake pads under warranty on a 3+ year old car.
