Check engine light came on and Auto Zone says the catalytic convertor is the problem. Is the catalytic convertor on the HX different than others.

Hey guys - Thanks for the info. Have done alot of research since and found similar pricing. Just don't know much about engines and was surprised at the pricing for a catalytic convertor. Now I'm not understanding the O2 sensors. Pricing is all over the map and I have a 97 civic HX with a manual trans.

I am seeing some O2 sensors that are specified for the HX manual transmission and they are almost $500. Then I see other that don't specify manual or automatic and they may be $100 to $150. Not understanding why some of the O2 sensor have such a cost difference and what is the difference between a manual and an automatic O2 sensor.
