Angry 2000 Grand Prix Gtp Intake Gaskets

I Had My Upper And Lower Intake Gaskets Replaced,on The Dealership Vehicle Inspection Paper I Had No Oil Leaks And The Belt Are Listed As Good, Two Weeks After I Got My Car Fixed I Smell Oil Burning. I Called The Dealership And Was Told My Engine Needed To Be Stream Clean.about Two Week Later I Took My Car In For A Oil Change, And Was Told I Had A Oil Leak. I Took It Back To The Dealership And Was Told That I Now Need Valve Cover Gaskets And That One Of My Belts Had Cracks In It , But Both Belt Needed To Be Replaced The Cost 510.00. I Think The Dealership Cause This Problem. Can Somebody Tell Me If You Have To Remove The Belts And Valve Cover To Replace The Intake Gaskets

Yes! you have to remove the belts and valve covers to replace the intake gaskets. If they are quoting you a cost of $510 to change belts tell them to pound sand and take it somewhere else. The belts cost less than $50 each and can be put on in less than an hour by a backyard mechanic. The valve cover gaskets are a little more complicated and will require more time to replace. If the price is for belts and gaskets that is still too high for a replacement. The gaskets are about $60 and take a couple of hours to replace. I would find another garage or dealer!

By the way WELCOME to the forum!!!

Yeah, sounds like another case of dealer rip. And the dealers and/or their reps. wonder why we come down hard on them. Sad!
