Question Help-engine stalls/jerks a little only sometimes when in park and driving 40mph

I have a 1998 Ford Escort SE automatic and 3 years ago the engine acted like it was gonna cut out or was a little jerky whenever I went about 40mph. Also, about a year ago it started doing the same thing when I am in park, neutral, or just stopped with the brakes on. I took it to get a diagnostics test 4 months ago and they said nothing read wrong. Maybe I should get another test done somewhere else? Or does anyone happen to know what the problem is?

I just purchased an escort 1996, and noticed it seems jerky around 40 -50 mph. I replaced the plugs, but prior to that, I did get a code of 1405 on the powertrain. I don't have the code book, but sent a post to see if anyone knows what code that is. I replaced the plugs last night and took it for a quick drive, and seemed to be better even thought the plugs did not look bad, so it may have something to do when it gets hotter too.

check for the AICV (Air Idle Control Valve) part number. If it's finsh by AA you got the serial valve. A TSB (technical service bulletin) has been written about it and the valve need to be change because it's stuck open. All escort that stall on idle or are hard to start need to change this piece. It's about 140$ can. at the dealer.
