any major problems with the 2000's?

might be about to buy a 2000 gti gls 1.8t, and i just want to know if there are any major problems from that year.

and about how many miles should i expect it to last without any major problems? its on around 54,000 miles, if that helps. and the current owner is in his 30's - 40's, judging by his voice over the phone, so not some teenager who will be more likely to drive it hard.

anything you guys can tell/suggest would be appreciated.

im only asking this because its the 2nd year of its generation of gti's, and i figure there MAY be a chance of a few oddball things going wrong.

They used plastic clips to hold the power windows in the track... they would brake and the windows would drop... was a TSB or Recall I believe. Check alldatadiy.com they have everything you need to know on how to fix your car and they give free TSB and Recall reports.
