gauge housing and rear interior pannel removal

alright, i just need to finish a few more things and my car will be 'tip-top' i have a 95 ford escort LX and i need to remove the black plastic part that goes around the gauge cluster and center AC vents in order to fix the rear defrost button. so far ive taken off all 9 or however many of the screws that face down and the shell for the steering column. the piece i need off is now held down by what seems like only one part to the left under some other int. pannels and i now have no idea how to finish it and get it off..... also .....my rear interior 'trunk' light that illuminates the hatchback area, when its open, is burned out. i dont know how to get it off to replace it, and i didnt want to take any chances on attempting the removal because its 10 year old brittle plastic. again, while im in that region of the car, i need to remove the hatch back door interior pannel. when the car gets to 70ish+ or when idling, the spoiler/trunk rattle and vibrate. needless to say its very annoying... so far ive gotten the 4 snap lock things off, and the 2 screws in the handle, and now im stuck... pplease if anyone could help me with this, itd be greatly appreciated. thanks.
