it's optional, so there really is no real answer for that. i can tell you this, no 96 and up hatches come standard with power steering.

I used to have a 99 hatch, and it did have power steering. I thought it was standard on DX, optional on CX...

Starting in 1999 and spanning until 2000 all DXs were equipped with Power Steering either standard or option -- but i do know they did come w/ it under one of those circumstancs.

Damn without power steering, driving is hard!!

If I do get a DX and it doesn't have power steering, can I bring it to a honda dealer and ask them to add it in? How much would that cost?

it's not really hard to drive without power steering, but it will be a bitch turning in corners if you have wide tires. the dealer will add it on for you but don't be surprise if they overcharge for labor just to install something you could do yourself.

i like my car better without powersteering. my old coupe had powersteering, but my hatch doesnt and it feels a lot better with out it. only time power steering sucks is when you are parking. when you are moving the steering is easy and you get such a good feel of the road.
