good cheap advice
hey danny. i have the same year as you. you have the slowest computer ever put in a corvett, dont bother with a chip depending on the chip it will just over work your tranny to possible death. there is a guy in texas that sells a new intake that takes a couple of hours to put in plus figure on installing a fuel pump for an 85. a couple years a go i did this for under $450 and half a saturday. if you can find a way to go from 205 to350-400 hp on this car cheeper and faster please email me. i hope this willbe good enough to tide you over till you have the money for a zr1 motor. x-ram.com is the place i found it

Re: The Best C4 of them all
Wow, well, actually, the "easiest" way I found to make my 84 stronger and faster (I havent done it, yet) is buying a new crate motor and drop it in, I saw what they call the "ZZ383", and man, let me tell you, it looks pretty cool, also, the long tube headers (ebay.com) , with a true dual 3" exhaust system (madvet.com), and 3.73 gears in the rear, along with the B&M shift kit. But now, the only problem will be hood clearance, LOL! Looks like is just too complicated to deal with all of those chips and computer stuff, at least for me. Thanks for the tip, Im gonna do a lil bit of research about it. Adios

Re: The Best C4 of them all
I gotta' second Nick's call - the 90ZR1. All the early C4's (C4'a' - I call 'em), mine included, have the weak CFI, or TPI. Excepting Calloways and Lingenfelters, only the 90 ZR1 is top end. C4'b' (91-96) has LT1, LT4, and ZR1 powerplants - ALL top end. So the '90 one could call a 'sleeper'.
Just my opinion... |
