Re: Montaton (Build it Marathon)

That sounds like fun. One of the modeling clubs around here did something similar where people traded a kit (no rules, could be anything of any quality, whatever), and then it needed to be built before the next meeting. I guess it had a pretty good turn out with some creative stuff.

Oh yes Supaman,...a loooot of fun in our activity, where basically there was no rules involved, just to make a surprise model in 8 hours!....Which one was the model?....The Tamita Lotus Super 7 Series 2!

Like I said, this is a kind of show where the main goal is do whatever you can do to the model for fun. I think you can get more laughs per dollar that in any other show!

I was there, but I wasn't able to finish the model
I just couldn't decide on what to do with the model, just too many ideas flowing at the same time I guess.
This is how it was set up:
1. You had to bring any tools, paint, spare parts, detailing materials that you would need to build a model.
2. 8 hours time limit to do whatever you wanted to the model.
3. No help from the other competitors or any expectators.
4. Food and refreshments would be provided by the organizers so you wouldn't have to interupt or stop your work.
5. The model was to be revealed at the begining of the cpompetition.
6. Everything had to bre done right there. (cool, eh!)
After the 8 hrs. awards were to be given to the top 5 cars and airplanes(we had an airplane selected for the fellow military modelers)

Man, did I have a surprise when I uncovered the packing and saw that thing :22yikes: I tried to think of something but there was no hope for me , almost all (the little I did ) was either a disaster or a foolish choice. So I did what I do best, GIVE EVERYBODY ELSE A HARD TIME
Well, I finally decided on diong the rat rod look, but there were only 45 minutes left; so the rest is history. I promise I'll do better the next time, until then . . .
Bye Bye, little ones.
