Air Conditioner noise

I have a 2002 Tahoe, and have noticed lately that when the a/c is set to auto and I first get in the car and the a/c automatically starts up to cool to the preset temp. I have selected it sounds like an airplane is taking off from under the passenger dashboard. This problem seems to have gotten progressively worse. Anyone else had problems with this?

I am having the same problem on mine. The dealer actually replaced my a/c compressor because of a squeal noise that sounded like it was a mouse inside per a "special policy" at no charge. However, not I am having the same noise that you indicated and the dealer is unable to duplicate it, which is a crock of ish...

I have the same problem with my 99. Local shop that I usually take it to says it's probably electrical in nature and recommended a dealer visit. We're doing some research to determine what the electrical possibilities could be.

Anybody else know? When we pin it down we will post-
