Post K-series swap info. Interesting...

http://hybrid-racing.com/articles.html

Looks like K-swaps in the older civics are becoming much easier now

The only downfall is that its expensive but well worth it IMO.

Re: K-series swap info. Interesting...

Looks like K20a-JDM CTR/ITR engine/tranny combo is the best... 2.0L, 11.5:1 cr, vtec+vtc, and lsd. 2nd choice would be the K20a2 RSX type-S with 2.0L, 11.0:1 cr, vtec+vtc but no lsd or the K24a2 from the TSX 2.4L, 10.5:1 cr, vtec+vtc but no lsd.

Re: K-series swap info. Interesting...

Well, I read on the site how they had a K20a with cams and I/H/E up to 260hp at 12.5:1 cr on 91 octane so I guess it can be done. I wouldn't though. I hated blowing up my high compression on 93 octane... felt like my best friend died.

Well I know it can handle 12:1 but 12:5 is pretty high pump gas. I'm goin to stick with stock compression which is 11:5. Im thinkin of getting the jdm motor. Dont tell me to get the typ s motor cause its only like 200-400 dollar difference!

I'll wait 4-5 years when the parts are all cheaper (and more aftermarket parts are available).

I can't wait that long

I dont think the motors will get cheap. I mean look at the ITR motor. ITs about the same price as the JDM K-swap.
