Dodge Neon 1999 how to change time belt

I have a Dodge Neon 1999 with 102 miles. I need to change the time belt.

Is there a web site where I can go to that shows how to change the time belt?

Thank you in advanced,

Pablo

Click ME for a timing belt how to. Also remember to change your water pump while you are at it.

Re: Dodge Neon 1999 how to change time belt

its pretty easy. remove your passenger side tire, accesory belt, pulley, timing belt cover, and motor mounts - dont forget the middle motor mount (you will have to go in through the passenger tire well, there will be a 22mm torx head, take that out). once thats done, align timing marks on the crank. loosten the adjuster (which you should replace while your in there) remove the timing belt. 3 or 4 bolts are holding down the timing belt cover. remove that, and replace the tensioner and water pump. reassemble everything and your set. while your in there, replace your cams with something more aggressive, it will only take you an additional 30 min. expect the whole job to take you 4-6 hours. its not too tough

Are you talking about cam gears or camshafts?

Agreed, but if it is a SOHC, it wouldn't be as expensive.
