Question 86 jetta door panel

hello, i need to switch the door handle on the drivers side of my jetta because the trigger broke off, and i am switching it with the passenger side one, i was wondering how the door panel comes off, i undid the four screws and it wouldnt come undone, can someone help me out?

The door panel doesn't have to come off. Remove the handle chrome trim by popping off the rear side first, this will expose a small screw at the front of the handle. There is another large phillips screw at the rear door edge near the rubber seal. Push the handle forward to unclip the tab at the front & the handle will pull out.
