240sx sr20det

trying to buy sr20..was wondering if i need transmission also or does sr20 fit the stock 240sx engine tranny...

so your in the market for just the engine?? Why not just get the clip so you'll have it all in one swoop. It will make it easier like sideways said. But if you got the tools and skills then more power to ya, make it fit.

I think the ratios in the stock 240sx tranny are a bit longer, so a SR20 car w/ 240 tranny would have slower acc than with an SR20 tranny

As I recall, the 2 trannies are exactly the same except for the bellhousing.

Get the whole front clip from ardperformance.com they have SR's for cheaper than anywhere else

the KA24D has a little bit shorter gearing than the SR and KA24DE
The KA transmisson will fit but you will need an SR bell Housing... and to get a SR bellhousing you'll prolly need an SR transmission. If your looking for a gearing change it would be easier and more expensive to buy the JDM 180SX 4.10 Rearend. and you could get the Axles and VLSD too.
