is a 97 civic dx a good car?

hey i just recently started getting into cars n i dont really kno that much about them haha but wut are the advantages n disadvantages of the different kinds of civics n is the 97 civic dx a good car to get n fix up?!

im sure some more inteligent people will answer you with more information...but ill give you a quick answer...a dx doesnt have vtec, and it has about 20 hp less than an ex...so if you had the choice, go for the ex...but i made the mistake and got a 98 dx...a LOT of people will tell you that they like dx's for their price...its actually not a bad car, there are still things you can do to it...im planning on doing a mini-me swap...which is taking the head of an ex engine, and swapping it with my dx head (that way i gain vtec)...so its all up to you...yes, an ex is better to start off with, but if a dx is all you can afford at the time...its not a bad deal
