Civic headlight problem =(please help)
Alright, I got my car back from the body shop last October and a few weeks later my passenger side headlight went out. [btw, I've got Nokya arctic white halogen bulbs.] I'd only had the bulbs for a year. So, I bought another pair at the end of October, and here we are in February and my passenger side headlight went out again. Can anybody please help me with my problem.
Thanks in advance

Wow.
Your lucky to have yours last for that long. Mine were going out every 2 months. Finally i just gave up for a while and went back to halogen. Those seem to last a little bit longer but i couldnt see the road worth crap...so....i went back to hyper again. P.S. That should be normal for the bulb to go out that quick. All my friends had the same problem also so i know it's not just me.

Do you'r head lamps leak? Do they fog up any? I had the Piaa hyper white's and the ass holes blew on high beam. I just bought the hyper super white's they look pretty cool. I have heard that you can clean the bulb's with alcohol wipes to remove any finger print's.

i tried piaa's and others also but they all burn out after a months or two. they are to fragile to be in a car. so i went back to the stock bulbs i took out that where laying on a garage floor for 6 months. and all times combined those stock bulbs lasted about 5 years.

Nah ah, my headlamps don't leak. Well, my driver's side halogen bulb has lasted me at least a year. Could it be something with my passenger side headlight plug or is it just regular for the bulbs to go out at different times??

Yeah, if they are not leaking I would definitly say it was the bulb's. I don't think there would be anything wrong with the plug or wiring. You can check the wiring to see if you might have a short but I doubt it.:smoker2:

Are you touching the bulb with your hands? You have to make sure no grease or oil are on them or it will blow. The grease/oil accerlate the blowing of the bulbs cause it will heat unevenly at the point where you touched it.

Alright, so my bulb is working again. I didn't do anything...so it might be temporary, in fact, it probably is. Since those bulbs don't last very long, does anybody have any suggestions for bulbs that aren't stock, but have long life??

GE makes some white bulbs, though they aren't very special (that is they aren't brighter than normal, or blue, just clean, white light with no yellow hue), they certainly last a normal amount of time.
If its working and then not, unplug and replug the wiring harness off the back of the bulb. I agree that getting finger oil on the glass could certainly cause this, but in that case, they often shatter. Definitely NEVER touch the glass part of the bulb. When I go to change headlights, I always grab a box of Kleenex. The same goes for halogen bulbs in the house.
