the engine differs from the 550 to the 575. code number 575, refers to its increase in engine displacement from 5500 cc to around 5750 cc, i believe.

575

550
The 550 has a narrow indention in the top of the bumper for your hand to lift the trunk lid, the 575 has an indention which is as wide as the trunk lid where it meets the bumper.

550

575

Yes, and it looks as if Fujimi has that part covered as well, as the headlight buckets are separate.

For the differences between the 550 and 575, check out....

http://fast-autos.net/ferrari/ferrari575m.html

They talk about the 575 compared to the 550.
Also has some great reference pics.

Enjoy....

Re: Ferrari 575M & 550 Maranello from fujimi.

i think i'd prefer to see a 456/M gt/gta before i see a transkit....
it would be good to have 355(or360), 550 and 456 all together.

Okay, if Fujimi is listening...

How 'bout making the 550 Barchetta and the 575M Superamerica from this kit. Seeing lots of pics of the Superamerica has changed my opinion on it...it's cool.

And while they're at it, Murcielago and Gallardo Spyders!

I'd rather have the 456M than the 612 Scag...lietti. That car just doesn't look right for a modern Ferrari. Sad, really.

Re: Ferrari 575M & 550 Maranello from fujimi.

It's almost illogical not to release the Barchetta and Super America, so I'd say, the announcement in the fall hobby show, and the actual product in Feb 2006, how does it sound?

As for the 2+2 Ferraris, the 456 is certainly nice, but from what I hear, the Scaglietti's face follows the common theme for the next decade Ferraris and the Scaglietti is the first of its kind. Every time Ferrari radically changes its design theme, everyone reacts negatively (like the ugly TR512 was a hint for the better-looking 550/575), I think the new design will eventually grow.
