2001 Cavalier no fuel pressure, pump runs.

I am trying to get a 2001 cavalier running for my uncle. He is dying and wants to sell it. It hasn't been started in a few months. The batt. was dead, so we had to jump it. I can hear the fuel pump kicking on and off when I turn the key on, so that's not the problem. The dash has a Security System light, but I don't know how it works. The manual just talks about a keychain style that didn't come with the car. The book mentions a Passive anti theft device, but gives no further information. We may have triped that while jumping it. It will run if we squert gas into the intake. I tried to press down the valve on the fuel line, but I didn't see any signs of pressure. The only thing I can think of would be the fuel filter, but it should at least fire even with a plugged filter. I don't know if they are equiped with an inertia switch for crashes or not. I really need to get this running. He needs to sell it to help pay for his final costs. Thanks in advanced.

Old gasoline is bad, replace with fresh gas or dilute it if there is little enough in the tank.
