cheap lame performance mods
Hey, i dont haf much budget but i am innovative so i'd like to try a few things.
1. Custom Cat Back I went to canadian tire.......and WOW i saw sections of pipe!!! pipe that i can use to weld myself a nice 2-3 inch cat back. NOW my question is whats a good diameter for piping? And what type of weld is good for holding together exhausts? Fusion? Electric? Braze? And has anyone done that before? 2. Cold Air Intake Yup, i want to fabricate my own cold air intake. It will take some engineering(quality sketches/drafts). I am wondering, whats a good type of plumbing for the air to go in, steel pipe used for the exhaust, dryer piping, or plastic drain piping?? Diameter? 3.ELECTRIC SUPERCHARGER! Went on some guy's jeep cherokee site and he did it using a fan of some sort......well i want to try/attempt to make a system. Has anyone attempted? Tips? Vacuums seem to pump a good deal of air, maybe i shoud try to adapt a vacuum type system? I don't know, i have lots of ideas. feedback please! |

Re: cheap lame performance mods
1. Custom? just got to ebay and u can get one for 30$.
2. Same thing or just make one your self with 2-1/2 pipe and a air filter 3. Electric Superchargers dont do a hole lot maybe 5hp if your lucky, your better off just getting a sensor mod, and if you dont know how to do that just got to importmodifications.com and goto ford probe they show you how to do it, it does the same hp gain and it only cost 5$

Re: cheap lame performance mods
what year?
If its 91-94 the 91 MAF is bigger. Get one. 3 inch pipe is all i'd use for intake. The throttle body is not all that big so any bigger is useless. MX-3 seats from scrap yard. take off A/C some of these can weight up to 70 pounds! move battery to back. Cheep metal box makes it road safe. However the best thing for little money is... Weight. the escort is a small car but a scraper and a lack of tar sheets is fun. A huge pain in the knuckles but well worth it. Stripp the car if its in the cards. I have a 94 GT rally car and with almost 400 pounds lost, it makes the Duke boys look sad. |
