please tell me my wheel bearings arent gone
so my civic has 50K miles and i got it used just a thousand or so back, so im still figuring everything out. I hear a whirring sort of occilating sound coming from the rear, and im wondering if the wheel bearings are gone. It has recently gotten a wheel alignment and camber kits (yes its lowered).
The car was hit in the rear reaaaly hard (declared total loss by insurance company) so im thinking that the wheel bearings in teh rear might have been damaged. I also have really low profile tires (wide too) so im thinking that the noise could be caused by them... but the sound changes according to the speed, like everytime the wheel passes a certain spot there's a whirring sound generated. what do ya guys think? wheel bearings? Tires? Normal? Abnormal? its quite a loud car.... lol |

Re: please tell me my wheel bearings arent gone
well rotate the tires if the noise moves to the front then wou know its the tires. If not then i would have to go with a bearing.

Re: please tell me my wheel bearings arent gone
make sure you get the rotation of the tires correctly too that causes serious noise patterns
