my exhaust question

hey guys, i have ad alot of problems with my exhaust on my 94 civc vti (ex) sohc vtec. Automatic

im getting sick and tired a sporty exhaust sound, especially in a auto.
the pipe underneath is 2.5". and the muffler is some cheap muffler, i want to have a exhaust that is the same sound as the stock. when i bought the car 2 years ago, it came with the 2.5" piping.
what is the standard pipe size. is it 2.25". cause im thinking of going to a honda wrecker and get a used honda civc exhaust pipe and muffler. i know this is a dumb question, but if i do that,will it fit in my car and sound like a normal civic. i know for sure, i dont have aftermarket headers. or is it cheaper to buy from a muffler shop a normal pipe the same size and the stock one.

apexi ws is really quiet. stock piping is 1(7/8) inches. i believe
