86 jetta gli "dying"

Ok i have a 86 jetta gli and my mother in law was driving it and it died on her as she was pulling away from the mcdonalds window lol, well she got it back started and crawled it to a parking spot and it wouldnt start back up and then 15 min later she tried it and it fired right up what could be going on?...

It could be alot of things, perhaps start by checking the fuel pump & relay....

ok it is charging system!

Well i figured out it is the charging system somewhere somehow the batteries jus keep going dead in it and i just replaced the alternator but yet it keeps dying, and when its running and i pull the positive cable off of the post it will die, what do you think faulty alternator, or soome messed up wiring and where?...

The plug connector on the alternator is common to go bad.

ok ill check that out actually i should prolly just change all the wiring that goes from the alternator to starter to battery can you get all of those at like autozone or something for an 86 jetta?
