Re: Air conditioning not working

Boy what a loaded guestion. there could be alot of reasons. Low refreg, bad compressor, blown fuse, bad pressure switch, etc.

Re: Air conditioning not working

My A/C no longer goes cold but it used to. The compressor is brand new so I know that can't be the problem. Could I have knocked one of the hoses loose while off-roading? Now instead of getting cold it only gets hotter...? I checked my fluids too just in case and they're all good. A friend suggested possibly having my A/C recharged??

Hay does it even turn on? I mean does the compressor ingauge when turn on? If low on freon it most likely will not or it will cycle very fast. If it is empty then it will not turn on. And just because compressor has been change doesn't mean alot. Boy the bad reman compressor I have seen over the last 30n years.

Re: Air conditioning not working

Freon being coolant? Where would I check the freon? It does come on and the compressor engages so I know its not that.

Re: Air conditioning not working

Well that is still just a guess. You need to hook up gauge to system and see the pressure. Since it will turn on there must be freon in the system. If it doesn't cycle alot then you could guess not very low on freon. With some gauge readings I could tell you alot more. Without the reading we can guess and guess. There are 2 fittings where the gauges hook up. One is the high side and one is the low side.
