I agree. I wish more car makers would join sports car racing.

Re: DBR9 Wins at its first race.

lol that was crazy when johnny O'Connel was driving the C6-R and the left front disk brake just EXPLODED....carbon fiber dust everywhere and a scary looking crash...hooray for multi-layered tire barriers.

Re: DBR9 Wins at its first race.

I was shocked that the vettes lost, so much for the perfect record this year.

Do you think the vette team would have won if it were not for the brake issue?

Re: DBR9 Wins at its first race.

Who is going to compete against the vette in normal ALMS competion? I know we won't see the DBR9 until the petite LeMans at Road alanta. So is ther maserati going to stay or is it going back over the ocean as well?

The Masers were "special guests" for Sebring. They weren't competing for points and the cars aren't legal for regular GT1 competition. As such, they'll be sitting out until the revised (and legal) MC12 is debuted.

Prodrive Aston Martin was using Sebring as their chance to get an automatic invitation to Le Mans. Otherwise they're an LMES team.

The factory Corvettes will contend with a few privateer Ferrari 575GTC's and the Konrad Saleen S7-R's, plus some custome Corvette C5-R's. Yawn.

Re: DBR9 Wins at its first race.

Another words if i we want some good road course racing we are going to have to look to the speed world challenge or rolex sports car challenge.

I thought the 12 Hours of Sebring was awesome to watch on the Speed channel. I wish they showed more of the GT1 battle though.

What he was talking about was that it "kinda sucks" that the best sports car racing in America doesn't kowtow to the ACO and doesn't have to risk their Le Mans sanction just so that they don't have a piddly uncompetitive field in their secondary division.

GARRA and Speed World Challenge are fine racing, and I actually prefer watching GARRA Daytona Prototype battles to waiting to see when the Dyson breaks.
