Custom Touchscreen
Wudddup everyone. I have this dope idea in my head but i'm not to sure on what i'll need to make this work or even if it's possible but i want a touch screen that i can watch something and and control my stereo (not at the same time but you know wut i mean) I have one of these big double din factory stereos n that shit's crap. I had a regular in-dash mp3 player but I want something with a screen and those flip out ones are alrite but that wont cut it. I know touchscreens are everywhere know so i dont think it'll b a problem to find but can i hook it up to do wut i want. If anyone can give me some feedback. What will i need? or do they already make something like this. N i know i'm going to have to custom make the harness n everything for it. Hit me back thanx. Peace

because of the nature of what you are doing, it will most likely require that all of the control components be of the same manufacturer. I know alpine makes a touch screen monitor that comes with a sub box that has an AI net connector and I guess basic preamp functions. So you could hook a CD changer, nav system, etc ... to it and control everything from the touch screen. I am sure most of the others (pioneer, kenwood, sony, etc ...) have or will have similiar systems.
