truck bed seems loose?

while driving today, i looked out my side rearvew mirrow and noticed as i went over bumps the bed jiggled back and fourth a little. also when i turn, the bed seems to be pulled to the side opposite the turn as if the Gs encountered during turning affects the bed more the the cab. the turning thing isnt entirely noticable unless your paying attention, and when the bed moves its not much at all and seems to be held in well.

im basically wondering if this is normal, or abnormal. do i need new bed mounts or does the bed normally do that?

Re: truck bed seems loose?

It's normal.

Ford and VW both tried making a bed built right on to the cab of trucks, and atleast Ford had problems with binding over the large area.
Everyone makes the bed seperate from the cab to eliminate that problem, which allows the box to move independantly from the cab.
