2001 Malibu tranny fluid check

I have a 2001 Malibu and am wondering how do you check the auto tranny fluid? Where the dipstick is supposed to be there is only a cap and the manual says take it to the dealer to let them check it. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure of your tranny model.I know on some models the only way to check it is to take out the drain plug and see if the fluid is even with the bottom of the screw hole....it is a pretty poor system.
