Need an amp to match my sub

I just bought an Audiobahn AW1506T 15" Flame Q sub with 2600w max/1300rms and it should be here soon, but I still haven't found a good amp to match it. My price range is $200 or less for one, and I want at least 1200rms, preferably 1300 to match it. I will be running 1 channel to the one sub. Any suggestions?

I don't know my shit like you may, and I'm not saying that I am right, but a buddy of mine has an 800rms amp running his 800rms subs both audiobahn) and they have held up perfect for the last 3 years.

Re: Need an amp to match my sub

once agian, Audiobahn tends to overrate EVERYTING....not just subs, Amps, Mids, Highs, Tweeters, EVERYTHING....there is a pair of AW10XX's (i dont know the exact number) sitting in my room rated to 300w RMS...i wouldnt put more than 300-350w RMS on BOTH...
if he has an audiobahn amp that is overrated on an audiobahn woofer that is overrated then itwill even out. put a true 1300w on it and play a few test ftoens for a few seconds and see if that is a true Continuous RMS powerhandling.
as for an amp. Hifonics BX1500 can be Ebayed for around $200

Re: Need an amp to match my sub

This one is probably 4x's the size of what you need but would be great to have. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MESE%3AIT&rd=1

Yeah, the newer Bahn stuff is really over rated. Plus, their quality tends to change all the time.

A buddy of mine found this amp and seems to think that if I kept the level on the amp low then it would power my sub just fine, but I think that much power would blow a sub. What do you tihnk?

Re: Need an amp to match my sub

Yep, Bahn is ALMOST as bad as that Legacy. I wonder why I didn't see a tricked out car with Legacy or Bahn stuff at the SEMA show this year?

No seriously, you really need to save your money on better stuff. I know that everyone has to start somewhere but I don't think that's where you should. I don't go flaming people on here like other punks. Actually, I am the one usually getting flamed. If you don't believe me, look up my posts.

Those are pretty bottom basement items. The biggest problem is what they print on the boxes. They usually always make the peak power the biggest thing you read. You can't look at that. You need to pay attention to what the RMS rating is at a certain voltage like 14.4 volts and at what ohm load.

Re: Need an amp to match my sub

Don't you come on here actin like you know your shit and tellin people to get down or whatever. All anyone here is trying to do is warn you that Audiobahn is overrated...... trust me I know first hand... before I ran good products I had a couple of audiobahn setups and they were shitty. i've ran flame q's. Get something that does around 800rms @ 2 ohms and build a PROPER ported enclosure for it. Make sure you also set your gains CORRECTLY. If you clip the hell out of your amp you WILL blow the sub.

Re: Need an amp to match my sub

we're not messing with you

you get what you pay for, if you go cheap you might regret it later

n try a hifonics, profile, or lanzar amps

they're cheap, and they're not fleamarket brands, works good for the $$ u pay, not like legacy...

Alright, surely I got off on the wrong foot in this post, and I sincerely apoligize. The thing is, I already have the sub sitting in my room, so that is what I have to deal with. I was just trying to upgrade from the MTX thunders that I had, and the town I live in is Audiobahn crazy, so I figured they must be alright..and as you can see im not a car stereo genius, nor do I try to be.

..and someone said something about HiFonics-how about the HiFonics Brutus BX1500D that I found on Ebay? I just need some type of amp, I don't really care anymore I've been through too many yes and no's.
