Console light ideas

My 2002 PA armrest cupholder broke, since they are really flimsy I decided to buy a floor console with adjustable cup holders. It is fairly dark down there at night so I would like to install a very low light of some sort. Any ideas?

I figure I can use the power from my ashtray light since i'm a non smoker.

neons and leds are the most common, be creative with mounting. Leds are fairly cheap and not that bright if you're looking for a dull light, you can mount them under the dash pointed towards it, or in it casting onto it
get a complimentary color for your interior (blue works for about anything in my opinion) and see what you like, thats what matters

Yeah you can use the power from your cig. lighter, they will power on whenever your acces. are on though, or all the time depending on your car, unless you wire up a switch too. easy way to check is to plug in a car cell charger or somethin else you can easily check for power with your car off, before you go pullin wires.

install small leds. if you don't want it colored just buy the clear bulbs. Cheap, easy, and they last forever.

I agree, but never say never (or forever in this case)

Most last for 100,000+ hours

Thats 11.5 years+ of continuous operation, But in all practicality they'll outlast the car and probably you too. cause say you do you them like 5 hours a day (yeah right) They still last you for 55 years

But one plus is that they're such low draw you can leave them on all the time, without killin your battery like a normal bulb (thats why security system lights are LED)
