alarm and serivice lights are on

hey i have a 2000 sunfire 2.2 ltr well today for the first time my car wouldnt start cranks but rarely starts i know for a fact its not the fuel pump maybe the throttle positioning sensor but would that trigger a alarm system code along with a service light?..would the cheap factory sappy alarm ( door locks and lights only ) not allow the car to start any help would be great i hate to take to my local dealer and pay for a minor issue thanks
