94 s10 blazer tranny shift adjustments?

On my little blazer it has an automatic tranny, is there anyway to adjust when it shifts down. I always have to step on the excellerator all the time to get it to down shift when going up a small hill especially with the cruise control on.

Re: 94 s10 blazer tranny shift adjustments?

You'll have to tell us the year for this one.

There ia an automatic kickdown that must not be working.

Older S-10's had theirs working on a cable system hooked to the throttle, and I understand that later models work on a switch, I would imagine on the throttle pedal.
I don't know what year they changed to the newer transmission

Re: 94 s10 blazer tranny shift adjustments?

The 94 was an E tranny so there is no adjustment. Our 94 and 01 Blazers also stay in high gear longer than I'd like, but I gotten used to it and just manually shift it to third.

Re: 94 s10 blazer tranny shift adjustments?

rlith Have you ever done that mod on a 4x4?
I read somewhere that you can't, but I've seen a floor shift on a 4x4 Blazer with a body lift (which I don't want to do)

I only get 4x4's... I did this on both my 1st and 2nd gens, my 1st had a 3" BL, my 2nd gen has a 2"

Re: 94 s10 blazer tranny shift adjustments?

Do you think that it's possible without the body lift?
Where I live and off road there are just too many steep cross hills, so I really don't want to make my blazer more tippy. A floor shift would sure be nice though

My shifters went in before the body lifts...

Re: 94 s10 blazer tranny shift adjustments?

Thanks Rlith. It'll probably be my next mod.
I know where there are lots of standard steering columbs, so I'll probably change that while I'm at it

Re: 94 s10 blazer tranny shift adjustments?

I just took another look at your first gen Blazer rlith, and what can I say. That center shift mod looks better than stock.
Very profesional job, well done.

You don't need a different steering column... http://www.pghconsulting.net/howto
