RUMBLING When Below 20mph

Hello,
I recently purchased a Ford Focus 2000 with automatic shifting and power locks.
The person who I bought it form said that this problem had always occured but never bothered fixing it...

When the car is started up and idle it makes a low rumbling sound that rattles the front of the vehicle, like the dash and so on. It sounds as if it is coming from under the glove compartment on the passenger side. The sound is hard to describe but the steering wheel shakes like a lawn mower. However the sound cannot be heard from outside. Then sound occurs to happen and gets louder when you rev up the engine. Until you reach around 20 mph it slowly becomes unnoticeable.

Has anyone ever had this problem or do you know how to fix it

Thanks,
Tyler

Re: 2000 Rumbling

This, sadly is a common problem with the Focus Zetec...there are also a handul of solutions, among them, replacing the plugs, wires, ignition coil, air filter, fuel filter, fuel pump (if it hasn't already been done under the recall) PCV valve, EGR valve, and the DPFE sensor...yeah. I would start with the cheap stuff (plugs, wires) and if that doesn't work, then your DPFE sensor should have an extended warrenty on it, since it's a junk part. Also, call your dealer to make sure that your fuel pump was replaced under the recall.
