I'm trying to install a Sony CD Player into my 92 ford escort and am having some trouble....
The CD player turns on and off with the key, the memory works, but there is no sound, not even a crackle from the speakers..... here's a pic, it looks like there's not enough wires on the factory end of the harness?? ![]() (click to enlarge) |

Re: 92 Escort Speaker Wiring
HEY I had a 1994 escort.. Same story with my car... the thing is that with escorts there is a PRE AMP that is located on the floor behind the stereo console... you have to get the wiring out of the pre amp and then play around with those wires... cause those are the wires that go to the speakers... or a better thing to do is just run new wires to the speakers.. because i got mine installed professionally and cost me a fortune,... i try to do it in my dad's car and screwed up the electronics systems... just run your own wires to the speakers... hope it helps... later

just buy a wireing adapter kit ( around 7-10$) and wire the sony
to it then just plug it in the the cars connectors for the stereo. cant go wrong this way and it makes removing it a snap too. |
