I am swapping engines in my 92 Civic 1.5L and ran into a major problem tonight. I was unbolting the left (driver) front engine mount (lower) from the frame when I heard a 'pop'. With crafty flashlight work and peering through a small hole, my worst fears came true. I could see that the nut that had been attached (welded?) inside of the frame had popped loose. Now I cannot unbolt the mount (which I can get around) but worse I cannot bolt the mount back in.
Any suggestions on how to get it out and/or how to put a new bolt in?? Has anyone else had this problem? Last edited by Kowalske; 05-03-2005 at 10:51 PM. |

Re: Engine Mount Problem
Get rid of the mount completely. That mount is useless, that's why mount kits don't come with upgraded versions of those. As for the nut, I'm not sure how you'd get it out; never really checked how it was in there.

Re: Engine Mount Problem
you could drill a big enough hole in the side of the sub frame for you to get an open ended wrench in there to hold it while you un bolt.
