90 Olds 98 - Engine quitting
I recently replaced the Ignition Module and Coil Pack on my Olds 98 w/ 3.8L V6. The car will start fine but after it has warmed up it will just die. If I let it set for a few minutes it will start but die a few minutes later. Any thoughts?

you might want to have your crankshaft position sensor checked out i have seen it many times where it will run fine and then just die and wont start until it has sat for awhile i would say there is a pretty good chance of it being your crank sensor as they are fairly common to let go in their old age

Re: 90 Olds 98 - Engine quitting
Where is the Crankshaft Position Sensor on this model, and what kind of a job is it to replace?

Thanks gggman, have you ever replaced one? Do I need to pull the harmonic balancer off? Can I do the job without the special tool? Any other advice?? |
